Cristen Conger is a Webby award-winning podcast creator and co-host of Unladylike, on the Stitcher network. Her accidental podcast life began in 2009 as a staff writer at HowStuffWorks. There, she co-created and hosted Stuff Mom Never Told You, as well as its successful YouTube channel spin-off. In 2017, Cristen co-founded Unladylike Media alongside her longtime mic-wife, Caroline Ervin. After nearly a decade of making digital media that made sense of women, girls, and gender, Cristen and Caroline mapped out all they'd learned and then some in their book, Unladylike: A Field Guide to Smashing the Patriarchy and Claiming Your Space (Ten Speed Press, 2018), illustrated by the delightful Tyler Feder. Whether on the page, onscreen, or in the studio, Cristen sees no stereotype too superficial, no inequality too insurmountable, and no topic too taboo to confront with credibility and candor. A seasoned speaker, she's connected with audiences of summer campers, museumgoers, and uniformed coast guards, in addition to delivering on more traditional stages like SXSW Interactive, Creative Mornings, and MailChimp. Her favorite food group is La Croix.

Unladylike - Conger:Ervin:Feder.jpg

A funny, fact-driven, and illustrated field guide to how to live a feminist life in today’s world, from the hosts of the hit Unladylike podcast. Get ready to get unladylike with this field guide to the what’s, why’s, and how’s of intersectional feminism and practical hell-raising. Through essential, inclusive, and illustrated explorations of what patriarchy looks like in the real world, authors and podcast hosts Cristen Conger and Caroline Ervin blend wild histories, astounding stats, social justice principles, and self-help advice to connect where the personal meets political in our bodies, brains, booty calls, bank accounts, and other confounding facets of modern woman-ing and nonbinary-ing. By laying out the uneven terrain of double-standards, head games, and handouts patriarchy has manspread across society for ages, Unladylike is here to unpack our gender baggage and map out the space that’s ours to claim. Illustrated by Tyler Feder.
